This is Claude Hamner’s country store. This was part of the inspiration of "The Ballad of Curtis Loew".
"Searching for soda bottles to make myself some dough" in the song is a direct reference to Gene Odom.

What a tremendous day it was on Saturday!
Gene would like to thank everyone that participated in his Benefit Concert August 19, 2006. First and foremost Red Dog and Kat of The Dog’s Breath Saloon, Rick Broyles Road Manager of Ghost Riders Band, And Radical Randy!!
Inclement weather threatened on a couple of occasions but overall it was a great time for a good cause. The weather may have kept some from attending but this small crowd had a gigantic heart!!!
All of the Bands did a great job. Unfortunately due to time constraints The Ghost Riders did not perform, but all were still present.
Thanks,
Billy

Hi Gene,
It was an honor and pleasure to meet you yesterday. Attached, please find the best of my pictures from yesterday. I hope you enjoy them and I hope that you realize my invitation to you to come to our house and do the BBQ thing was a genuine offer. Fishin is definitely in the plan.
Again, thank you for a great day yesterday.
