LYNYRD SKYNYRD TRIBUTE 2009
Image

Hope to see you Saturday October 17, 2009 at The Pastime.

5301 Lenox Ave
Jacksonville, FL 32205-4783
(904) 781-9862

All Lynyrd Skynyrd and Southern Rock Fans Welcome. We are here to celebrate the lives of Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, Dean Kilpatrick, Allen Collins, Leon Wilkeson, Billy Powell and others that are no longer with us. It is a true honor and priviledge for me to share some of the heart felt stories that I have being associated with the original Lynyrd Skynyrd Band for so many years. In many ways it seems Ronnie Van Zant and I had a short time together, even though we were good friends from 1952 until his untimely death on October 20, 1977. Come join me for a great lunch with music to follow. Festivities begin at 12:00 Noon.
The 77 Band will take the stage at 5:00 PM. We will have some surprises going on as well!

Thanks,
Gene Odom

I really wanted to come but the airfare is horrible and too damn far for this old man to drive.

Y'all have a great time and take a bunch of pics.

Sure wanted to go south for a while, but workload at my day job is kicking my butt, plus extra funds recently went to take care of some sidewalk/driveway repair work that couldn't be stalled off any longer.

So, I will be honoring the amazing original band members privately but not quietly :) Sure look forward to photos and stories and whatever y'all can share with those of us who will be there in spirit anyway.

All the best to my frynds who will be there soon honoring the world's greatest bunch of musicians. If you're reading this, travlinman, you just get healed up and better soon, please!

Cheers!

We really had a wonderful time at the Jug Saturday and the Hell House property on Sunday. A special thanks goes to the 77 Band for some great tunes.

Thanks,
Gene

We had a great time! If you have not gotten the dvd sets of Ronnie Vanzant interviews and concert footage etc. You need too! This stuff is awesome! Thanks Gene for putting this stuff out there for us true Skynyrd fans. It is well worth the cost!

On behalf of the 77 Band, we enjoyed seeing all of our old and new frynds. Georgia Peach great to see you again. Billy Webb your a true southern gentleman. Gene Odom, it was a pleasure as always. Rolls Royce I hope to see you again next year buddy! Thanks to Billy Johnson and all who were present at the Pastime on Saturday night October 17th. It was a great place and time to honor the Freebirds of southern rock!

Thanks again,
halehouse
