I will join Mitch Simmons owner of Neon Leon’s Zydeco Steakhouse and Lee Wilkeson. Mitch is the nephew of Leon Wilkeson original bass player for Lynyrd Skynyrd. Lee is the son of Leon Wilkeson.
Mitch is going to be cooking some of his fabulous cajun food right off the menu at Neon Leon’s.

Lee is also bringing some of Leon Wilkeson’s personal memorabilia and guitars while he was touring with Lynyrd Skynyrd. Marlene Wilkeson Lusk (Leon’s sister) will also be there with her own collection of some
Of Leon Wilkeson’s Lynyrd Skynyrd band memorabilia.

Come on out and eat the best food ever and see the most comprehensive and impressive Lynyrd Skynyrd collection around!!!

Neon Leon’s, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Guy Fieri

I know of a great little place in Florida that you might like called Neon Leons. It is named for Leon Wilkeson, an original member of Lynyrd Skynyrd, who survived the tragic 1977 plane crash with grave injuries, to still play for many years with the reformed band until his death in 2001.

Leon’s obligations to the band kept him away from another passion he held, and that quite simply, was to create a restaurant where entertaining the guests was as important as feeding them. To help complete Leon’s vision his nephew, Mitch Simmons and wife Lorraine, along with the help of Leon’s son Lee Wilkeson, and Leon’s sister Marlene Wilkeson Lusk have brought to you this establishment.

As a lifelong resident of North Florida, Leon and his band mates couldn’t help but be influnced by the music of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and the Zydeco music of Louisiana. They sang of it often in their own music. Leon’s appreciation for the down home music and cooking is the perfect marriage, providing guests with an unique dining experience.

LYNYRD SKYNYRD MOVIE

Good News to all Lynyrd Skynyrd Fans !!!

I have just met with a movie production company and their lawyers about a major motion picture about Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ronnie Van Zant and my life. This will be a complete account of Ronnie Van Zant and
myself from 1952 until his death in 1977. This movie will also include a complete history of the real Lynyrd Skynyrd Band. Mitch Simmons owner of Neon Leon’s helped organize and bring all parties together. Hopefully this movie will be in theatres in 12-18 months. I have the contract in my hand.

Stay tuned for all the updates as we will be having several functions at Neon Leon’s promoting this wonderful event.
